3 Places to Visit in Charleston (Kid-Friendly!)
We recently visited the beautiful area of Charleston, South Carolina with our 16 month toddler in tow. We tried to fit in as many sights as we could in our long weekend visit. Here I am listing some of the places we went and how they are baby, toddler, and kid friendly for all my traveling and sight-seeing mamas out there!
1. Rainbow Row (Historic Downtown District of Charleston, SC)
Rainbow Row in downtown Charleston is the perfect spot to grab your stroller and take a nice peaceful walk. These sidewalks have some of the most prettiest architecture you could walk by and our toddler loved it! He was extremely calm the whole walk. You can feel the ocean breeze as well since it is super close to the water. If you keep walking you find yourself in another beautiful waterfront park!
We had the best time taking photos in front of all of the houses. Many people were posing and taking photos. It’s a great area to bring children!

2. Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is gorgeous! It is a great place to take a child for a brisk walk, plus is also includes two beautiful fountains that double as splash pads for younger children. It also connects directly to a pier with swings.
The park featured multiple areas with benches like this. Absolutely beautiful! There were many spots perfect for photo-ops as well.
Address: Vendue Range, Concord St, Charleston, SC 29401
3. Isle of Palms County Park & Beach
Isle of Palms beach in Charleston was really fun (while it lasted). Obviously beach time with a toddler is a maximum of a couple hours. But, this beach was very nice and had a lot of great amenities if you have a small child. They offered changing rooms, multiple showers, and a small playground off to the side before you reach the beach. They also have public restrooms close by. Parking was $20, but to us it was well worth it to have the extra amenities that you normally wouldn’t have at a public beach.
Apparently sandy goldfish are the BEST, mom!
