First Quarter 2020 Blog Income Report

It is finally time!

Time to do a blog income report! This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time. I love reading others’ blog income reports because it is great to see how others are doing and what income they are earning and with what programs! It has been extremely beneficial for me to read through these income reports to see what I can be doing to better myself and my blog.

Why Do I Want To Do A First Quarter 2020 Blog Income Report?

Why do I want to do a blog income report? I think it helps me gauge my business and see how I can successfully create, manage, and reach my goals as making an income as a blogger. It can take many many months of blogging to finally turn a profit and it is not easy work. It is extremely easy to give up and let your blog fail. It is very hard to write and write and spend hours of your free time on blog posts and affiliate marketing, only to have 10 page views total each day. It is definitely not for the faint of heart!

I think posting a blog income report will help me because I will be able to look back and see all of my goals and accomplishments here on this one page. It also gets me a little excited for my blog because I honestly did not know if I would ever see a profit. . . So this will also help other new bloggers too. They will see that is it possible! It might take a while, and a lot of hard work and time, but it is possible for sure.

What is in my blog income report?

In my blog income reports, I will show you exactly what programs I am using and working with. This can show you (and me!) what programs are working for me and which programs are not! This is great for new bloggers to see what programs are worthwhile and which ones are not. It also helps me as well to be able to look back and see how much I am progressing from month to month. I like to set small goals for myself and my blog each month. I want to see how quickly I am able to reach these goals!

I am considering this month my third month of consistently blogging. I started my blog officially back in September of 2019, but I did not consistently start taking it seriously until around Christmas and after the new year. I sporadically posted blog posts and did not have a clear plan in mind. That can really set you back on attempting to make any income at all with your blog.

Blog Goals and Stats

Blog Goals for 1st Quarter 2020:

  • Reach 1000 page views
  • Have 60k monthly views on Pinterest
  • Write 2 posts per week – I was not able to post twice a week due to many reasons. We had a vacation in the middle of February that I did not have access to the internet, plus I did not have any pre-written blog posts that I could schedule to post while I was away. I was also extremely sick when we came back from vacation, then my son was sick, and I got sick again! I had bronchitis and the flu all within 3 weeks. It was rough. This is why I had to take a step back from writing. I was just trying to survive during those weeks. Ha!
  • Earn $50 in income – I did not make my $50 in income goal. I really need to sit down and map out an affiliate marketing strategy, I just haven’t had the time. I really want to make an income with this blog, but I am more focused on creating content at the moment. I need to find my niche and really pump out the content so I can grow my monthly blog views.

Blog Posts Published

  • I published 17 blog posts between January and March. I am honestly surprised I thought it would be less than that! I really ramped up my posting in February and March.

Google Analytics

  • I had 1900 page views for the 1st quarter, which is great for me!
  • I had 1100 sessions
  • My bounce rate was around 74%

Current Pinterest Stats

  • You can see I have really been working on my Pinterest! It has definitely paid off and I am going to keep working on it to hopefully grow my blog views as well. My current total audience is sitting around 86,000 monthly viewers, but in the first quarter, I had almost 141,000 viewers!

Blog Income for First Quarter of 2020

  • Target Affiliates: $4.00
  • Rakuten: $4.94
  • Shareasale Affiliates: $25.00
  • Walmart Affiliates: $0
  • Amazon Affiliates: $0
  • HostGator Affiliates: $0
  • Google Adsense: $1.07
  • Awin: $0

Total Quarterly Income: $35.01

This is a great start coming from someone that has earned $0 from a blog! It’s a great motivation to see that it is really possible to make income from a blog. I know obviously this amount is not amazing, but it is to me. I love to blog and it is just an extra way to hopefully earn a part-time income in the future.

Obviously, one of the main goals is to up my blog traffic. I have consistently been growing my Pinterest and hopefully, that will help grow my blog views as time goes on.

My Second Quarter 2020 Goals

  • Reach 5000 page views on my blog
  • Reach 100,000 Monthly Views on Pinterest
  • Write and publish 2 posts per week consistently
  • Earn $100 in income
  • Gain 10 more email subscribers

  1. This makes me very optimistic!!! I too am a new blogger looking to really ramp up my blog. I know this was your first quarter earlier this year where I am hoping to start my goals like this in 2021. I would love to stay connected 😊

  2. P.S. you should put links at the bottom to your other quarterly income posts for 2020 so users can click those and sort of follow along. On your 2nd quarter at the bottom add links to your third and fourth. Etc.
