Toddler Products For The Beach

toddler products for the beach

Are you looking for toddler products for the beach? We recently went on a short beach trip as a family. Anyone with small children knows how much you have to plan and prepare for your toddler. I have to make lists upon lists to ensure I do not forget anything because if I do I will hate myself. Ha! After a few trips with my toddler, I have found some of the must-have items you will need when taking a toddler to the beach.

These are all pretty inexpensive and can easily be found at your local stores like Walmart or Target and even the Dollar Tree! Check out some of the best toddler must-have products for the beach.

Toddler Products For The Beach

Plastic Beach Toys

These are always great to have on hand! It helps keep the little ones busy while your laying on the beach. I also found some great sets at our local Dollar General for around $5. I always buy cheaper sets just in case they get lost or left at the beach. It happens!

Cheap $1 Toys

I stocked up on some $1 toys from the Dollar Tree for the ride there. I found plastic cars and trucks that were perfect for my son. He loves any kind of vehicle so he was so excited when he was them even though they were only $1! You can also buy coloring books, cards, pipe cleaners, etc. Really anything they don’t normally have on a day-to-day basis that will keep them busy in the car!

Puddle Jumper Float

We love this puddle jumper float! It is great for active toddlers because it keeps their arms mostly free while they are swimming and it’s not overly bulky. Our son loved it! He used it every day while in the pools at the resort. We recommend it 100%!

Swim Diapers

Swim diapers are a must if your toddler isn’t potty trained yet. We love the Huggies swim diapers. We have used them since Liam was born with no problems whatsoever. I always make sure to have some on hand even when we are at home in case we decide to have a pool day.

Water Toys

I like to bring a few water toys with us, even if we just use them in the hotel room bathtub. You can also take them out to the beach but I get so paranoid we will lose stuff in the ocean. Lol.

Small Pool

This is a great tip! If you have a small toddler who isn’t walking yet or likes to play in one area for a while then you can bring along a small blow-up pool for them to play in while on the beach! They get to stay out of that sticky and hot sand and cool off in a pool of their own!

Baby Powder

I don’t remember exactly where I learned this trick, but it’s amazing! You can take baby powder with you to the beach and pour it over anywhere you are covered in sand and the sand will fall right off! I used it plenty of times since my son liked to play in the wet sand. It works great!

Sunscreen

Always remember to pack that sunscreen! Toddlers have such sensitive skin.

Throw Away Sippy Cups & Utensils

I love these cheap sippy cups for any trip we take. They are so easy to replace. If your toddler still needs a sippy cup to drink out of these are great to throw in your purse anytime you go out of your hotel room.

Travel Snacks

I always pack many many snacks for our toddler. He can go through them so fast! I like to have some for the car ride there, while we are in the hotel, and if we go out anywhere. It’s so nice to be able to pull out a quick snack for him instead of having to go somewhere and buy something. A good tip is to go to Sam’s Club or Costco and buy in bulk. We always buy veggie sticks, goldfish, Oreos, etc.

Other great tips for taking your toddler to the beach

  • Pack a small pop-up tent to use on the beach to provide shade
  • Find a water-resistant beach towel
  • Pack a water bottle to use when water isn’t readily available to wash sand off
  • Find a beach bag that will hold all of your extra toys and snacks
  • Invest in a wagon you can pull your toddler around in (make sure the wheels work in the sand!)
  • Plan out your beach/pool time around your toddler’s nap times

Have you taken your toddler or small children on a family beach trip? What are some of the products you used the most? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, if you are looking for a great hotel in the Myrtle Beach, SC area we totally recommend South Bay Inn and Suites. We have been there many times since they have opened and always had a great experience!
