Here are some easy budgeting tips that can save you hundreds

Easy Budgeting Tips

Learn to coupon

So, this is my number one suggestion to start saving hundreds each month on your grocery bill. I have been couponing for around 6 months or so and I have saved so much it’s ridiculous. I started by following multiple couponing accounts on Instagram and TikTok. I also watch YouTube videos of couponing breakdowns almost every single week to see what’s on sale and if it’s something I can use for my household.

There are always great deals on shampoo, soap, deodorants, certain makeup and skincare, toiletry items, and some food and drink items. Many of my shopping trips I spend almost zero out of pocket or I actually MAKE money back! I recommend looking up a few couponing accounts on YouTube to get started.

Many accounts even do small beginner hauls and break it down for you to make it extremely easy and less nerve-wracking.

Here are some of my favorite YouTube channels for couponing

  1. Savvy Coupon Shopper
  2. Couponing with Kayla
  3. One Cute Couponer

Buy Necessities in Bulk

If you have certain items you know you are going to re-purchase, then try to purchase them in bulk (if it’s cheaper!) We always try to purchase our toilet paper, paper towels, and certain food items I know we will consistently use and go through. It’s very easy to budget your grocery bill once you have your necessities already purchased for the month.

I recommend getting a membership at Costco or Sam’s Club, whatever you have available in your area. There is a fee to sign up, but it is totally worth it if you will be buying a lot of products in bulk. In the end, you will save money.

Cut out subscriptions

One super-easy way to cut down on your spending is to cancel any monthly subscriptions you have. Many people pay for subscriptions each month and don’t even realize it. This is your chance to check your bank statements and see if there is anything you pay for that you can live without!

Plan Out Your Grocery list/Meal Plans

This is something I tend to struggle with but if you do it right you can save hundreds a month! Meal planning isn’t new and I’m sure you have heard of it. Many people use this tactic to save money each month on their grocery bills. This is great for people with large families or for someone on a very tight budget.

You can easily research meal plans online and find great cheap recipes that will work for you and your family. The hard part is staying on track once you have purchased all of these meals.

Use Cash Back Apps/Websites

I personally think one of the best budgeting tips to save you hundreds is to use cashback apps and websites. I have started using a bunch of different cash-back apps and websites recently. These are great for anyone no matter how much you shop. You can use these when shopping for groceries and household items.

There are also websites that will pay you a percentage of your total when you shop through them. These cashback apps and websites can help you save hundreds with your budgeting!

Here are some of my favorite cash back apps/websites:

  1. Rakuten: I have made so much money back from this website! They run double cashback periodically and they offer cashback on pretty much anywhere that I shop! If you haven’t signed up yet, use my link and instantly get $30 back in your account after spending $30! It’s a great sign-up deal and an easy FREE $30!
  2. Ibotta: This is a great app for rebates on groceries and household items. I use it weekly when I am doing my grocery shopping. Sometimes you can even get completely free items after the rebates! It’s great to have it downloaded just in case.

Sign up for a Cash Back Credit Card

This is a wonderful way to earn a little bit of cashback each month as long as you pay back your balance in full before its due date each month. We don’t want to carry a balance and have interest tacked on because that will not be helpful if you are trying to save money.

If you know you can pay back the balance each month, I totally recommend signing up for a great cashback credit card! I use mine for practically everything. I mainly focus on when they do special cashback deals like for example 5% back for travel. I will book any vacations or travel I have been planning on my card.

You can also take advantage of any balance transfers (if you are currently carrying debt on any other credit cards) and get 0% interest for 18-24 months (it usually varies by offer)

My favorite cash back credit cards I currently use:

  1. Chase Freedom Rewards: This is my #1 go-to for all of my big purchases! They offer the best cashback deals! I recommend this card if you travel quite frequently. I have earned hundreds of dollars in cash back in the past 6 months. It’s a great card to have!
  2. Capital One: I have a Capital One credit card and really like it. You should check them out if you are looking for a basic cash back credit card. If you decide to apply for a card, use this link https://capital.one/2RlNdw8; if you’re approved, I’ll get a referral bonus!

I hope these easy budgeting tips have helped you save hundreds each month or at least came up with some great money-saving ideas. If you try some of these out, let me know in the comments how your saving is going!
